The Unsung Heroes of the Challenge Classroom

The challenge room is passed by the students all the time, yet its stories are unknown.

Every year, new bright young students enter Ralston Valley. With them, some truly special young men and women also arrive at RV and are assisted through their high school career by Special Education teacher Ms. Suzanne Nerguizian and others like her.

The Special Ed classroom is buzzing with activity these days, and not a lot of people know why. The kids are what make this part of the school really sweet.

“They’re honest,” Nerguizian said. “If only we could all be more honest with each other.”

Many know that Ralston Valley is a place filled with learning.  Nerguizian helps run her classroom in a manner slightly different to the flow of others sector of the school.

“We teach them how to take care of themselves,” Nerguizian said, “and, most importantly, how to help the community. “

From the teachers, to the students, to everything in between, the classroom is always in a good mood. Nerguizian provided some insight on how excellent the environment really is.

“The kids” are Nerguizian’s favorite part of the job.

These students have inspired and re-inspired the best of us with their honesty and whole heartedness. Hopefully, it will stay like this for years to come.
