The Mustangs haven’t exactly started off well this season, but with league play approaching, RV and head coach Jamie Scarcliff are hopeful that the team can turn it around.

Coach Speak: The Mustangs experienced their first win against Overland last Thursday. Varsity coach Jamie Scarcliff explains, “It was needed for team morale. Good game overall.” However, the boys have struggled in their other games this year. Prior to Overland, the Mustangs had a five game losing streak. Scarcliff elaborates that “We just don’t do well in terms of responding to goals against us.” On Friday, the Mustangs have a chance to start league off right against Pomona. Usually a definitive win for Ralston Valley in years past, Scarcliff warns that “I don’t think we can overlook any games. I have two kids out the first half from a cross country match and a kid out with a red card (Mason Miller, ’19). But hopefully it sets us in the right pace going forward for league.”
