Tessa Petersen
Writing is something that I have struggled with for a long time. Yet, I found my voice through figurative language in seventh grade, as I studied poetry quickly falling in love with the genre. I continued to experiment with words for a long time before I realized that I love to write. Now I am going on my third year of being on the school newsmagazine staff, along with having the honor of being a main editor this year. Along with writing, I am also the bass drummer section leader in the marching band this year. In my spare time I hang out with friends, listening to music, teach swim lessons, write, or do photography. As I proceeded through my senior year I hope to make the best of the time given to me. I hope to earn a degree in mathematics and teaching at BYU-Provo in Utah. Although I plan to major in mathematics, writing will always be a part of me as I try to connect with people and share stories through writing and photography in a creative, empowering way.
