A little over 114.4 million people all over the world tuned into the 2016 NFL Super Bowl.

The third-highest viewed Super Bowl sparked crazy trends and unforgettable moments, but when the cleat left the field, and a world-famous woman danced her way on during halftime, anger sparked in many people watching the iconic star and her “Black Panther” inspired dancers.

The black shorts and black fedora are an iconic style known as Black Panther style, and this look was very obvious during Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime show appearance last Sunday evening.

“I thought the half time show was great! A little risky, but good!” Michelle Koeneke (17)

As some viewers overlooked the risky look, many took to social media to express their outrage. Even to the extent of organizing an “Anti-Beyoncé Protest Rally” that is due to take place Feb. 16 outside NFL headquarters in New York, according to The Guardian.

The Black Panther Party began in 1966 by Huey P. Newson.

The general beliefs of the party range from anti-imperialism to anti-racism, however the biggest flag flown is the belief that threat Black Panthers posed on police officers and their behavior.

“ I don’t  really think Beyoncé meant to offend anyone. Maybe it was an honest misunderstanding.” Molly Demling (17)

With the past few months of negative experiences in the media and on the streets involving police officers and African Americans, an outbreak of anger swelled because of this single performance.
