A new boxing movie franchise is here and is on track for being the best of its genre. While many movies advertise as being “Movie of the Year”, Creed II has actually proven its claim. The movie collected $55 million in its debut, setting a box office record. Critics were surprised by its certified fresh Rotten Tomatoes rating of 83%.

“I knew the movie was going to be popular, but I didn’t expect it to be this much of a hit,” says longtime boxing movie fan Dan McGann. “It’s unprecedented results show that the sequel isn’t always worse than the original movie.”

“It’s a close call between Creed one and two, but I’d have to go with Creed two because of how much action happens in the second one,” said Senior Raul Villarreal after his third time watching the movie.

With a star studded cast consisting of actors such as Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, the movie was destined to break records from the beginning. The storyline was built around actor Michael B. Jordan’s character Adonis Creed, whose father, Apollo Creed, died famously in the movie Rocky IV.

“The creativity of the writers to build the storyline around another legendary boxing movie surprised me the most,” says Senior Otto Jones, an avid boxing movie fan.

As Creed II continues to break records the elephant in the room becomes more and more apparent, which movie franchise is better Creed or Rocky?
