“I love to draw and when I draw it is almost always in pencil or charcoal,” Callaway said. “I feel as if you can get greater detail into the drawing this way. My favorite thing to draw is definitely people. People are always interesting and I like to try and show that through my art.”

At Ralston Valley, the sophomore is involved in several prestigious art related classes and clubs. First and foremost, Callaway is taking an intermediate drawing class as an elective, after starting with creative drawing last year as a freshman.

The busy student also takes part in the National Art Honor Society.

“I’m in NAHS which is just like National Junior Honor Society but for art,” Callaway explained. “We have to get art related hours and do art projects.”

When looking toward the future, Callaway would like to pursue a career in art.

“I’m thinking that it would be cool to minor in art for college,” Callaway said. “My dream job would be anything where I could draw every day. I think that character design would be an awesome job.”

It is a commonly known fact that high schools focus a majority of attention on their sports teams.

However, it is time that we look around and notice all the other talent presents within Ralston Valley.

There is certainly no stopping Callaway and the things which she can accomplish through her creativity.
